Manage

A user connects with their browser to the CryptoCabinet application and supplies a credential with its password to log in. The web-application must be within the control of the enterprise - either in their own data-center or with a managed service provider - and NOT in the Cloud. In RC3 parlance, the CryptoCabinet application is in the Regulated Zone.

Authenticate

The CryptoCabinet servlet makes a web-service request to the StrongKey CryptoEngine to authenticate the user against an internal Identity Management System - either OpenDS or Active Directory. Note that other LDAP-based Identity Management systems can be configured to work with the CryptoEngine.

Keys

Upon successful authentication and authorization, the CryptoEngine generates a cryptographic key based on a predefined policy, and escrows the key with the StrongAuth KeyAppliance using a web-service. If the CryptoEngine already has a key cached for use, and if the key conforms to the defined policy, it will use that key immediately.

Standards

Applications will now be able to save encrypted data in the Cloud, automatically, while being compliant with data-security regulations such as PCI-DSS, HIPAA, EU Directive, etc.

Download the Binary-zip File. (Use this version to learn how SKCC™ works without code changes.)

Download a ready-to-use NetBeans application. (Use this to make changes to the source code.)

Before you begin you NEED to have,
  1. StrongAuth CryptoEngine™
  2. NetBeans IDE 6.9.1
  3. Glassfish 3.1
  4. OpenDS 2.2 or, Active Directory
  5. AWS, Azure or Eucalyptus Account (Skip this if no cloud-services are needed)

Install

  1. Extract/unzip the downloaded file.
  2. Build SKCC (skip this step if you downloaded the binary-zip file)
  3. Deploy SKCC.
  4. Configure SKCC.
